Help me improve FXCM’s forex news site!!

    By Marc Prosser | September 11, 2007

I am looking for ideas on how to improve DailyFX.com.There is a major top-secret improvement coming in a couple of months but, I am thinking 6 to 12 months ahead.

    Here are some questions:

Would you like to be able to receive forex price alerts by SMS or e-mail?

Would you like to have tools for calculating interest rate rolls?

What features do other forex web sites offer that you would like to see on Dailyfx.com?

All suggestions to improve Dailyfx.com are welcome. I cannot promise that we will act on them but, I will definitely consider them.

risk and pip calculators on the site would be cool, like they have on another news site

You should have a person who represents technical traders as a “spokesperson” for the technical team like everyone can identify Boris and Kathy with fundamental analysis….Like Ask Tom Long or Ask Sean. Having a face would be a boost as everyone is looking for someone who knows

How about quotes for gold, oil, treasuries, major stock market indices listed on the website also. Especially due to the recent carry trade unwinding and gauging risk in the market, I think this would be very helpful for traders.

      Dear Mark,

Thank you for all of your efforts as you work towards improving the Technical Analyzer, it is a very valuable and awesome tool. I review it several times throughout the day, and I never place a trade unless I’ve reviewed its contents.

My concern is the analysis is usually posted to the site long after it has been completed. Is there a way to expedite the posting process? Here is an example that seems to happen much too frequently: I’ll check the TA at 14:15 and find that the current analysis was posted at 10:30. I’ll check the TA again at 14:45 and see the same analysis from 10:30 is still posted. I’ll check the TA again at 15:00 and see that a new analysis has been posted. The completion of the new analysis was at 14:05. To my dismay, the analysis was completed 10 minutes before my initial check of the TA at 14:15. In this example the posting occurred from 40 minutes up to 55 minutes after the analysis was completed. I believe this is too long and can be very frustrating. I would like to see instantaneous posting, along with an alert being sent via email/SMS after a new analysis has been posted. With these enhancements I believe FXCM will continue to be an industry leader in the Forex.

Thank you for your time and understanding.

      E. Davis
