Keeping Your Finger on the Pulse of the Market

    By Tim Shea | August 1, 2007

DailyFX.com just launched a really awesome new calendar.  If you haven’t looked at it yet, check it out at http://www.dailyfx.com/calendar/.

The best thing is that the calendar isn’t static, like the old one.  It updates with all the numbers when they come out, so you can see the Actual numbers, as well as the expected and previous ones.  It even includes revisions to previous releases!

I also now make use of custom filters on the calendar.  I set it to only show news for the currencies that I’m interested in, skipping the others.  I also can filter out the low-importance releases, to concentrate better on the market-movers.  Then I can print it, to keep the calendar on my desk.  The new calendar also has links to descriptions of the releases, and often includes links to good news articles after the release, so I’m never at a loss for getting more details about a release.  It’s really a great improvement.
